The following 8mm film works in older Double aka Regular 8mm movie cameras that use a 25ft spool. Cameras include Bell and Howell, Bolex, Revere etc. 1930's - 1968. Double 8mm cameras were discontinued with the introduction of the Super 8mm Camera. However, we are a speciality retailer and carry these films produced by Kodak and exclusively packaged for our company to use in these cameras. Kodak does not directly sell these films to customers, we are the sole authorized internet distribution company.

You would be suprised how good the image looks when projected. You can buy a camera and a projector for very little on Ebay. It looks better than DV and is great for music videos and documentaries when properly transfered.

For those not familiar with the format, the film looks like 16mm but has twice the number of perforations. The operator threads the film according to the camera instructions or using plain common sense. When Side A is threaded and completely exposed the operator then flips over the spool to side B. Once both sides are exposed the film is then split down the middle and placed on a reel for exhibition at the lab. Cinechrome aka Kodachrome can be processed by your local WALMART for $4.88 if you decide not to use the Kodachrome mailer provided for quality Kodak Premium Processing. Just make certain to write down the desciption printed on the film label in the place for special instructions. Please note that black and white films can be processed at FRANKLIN FILM LABS for a reasonable price and EKTRACHROME E6 (CINECOLOR) can be processed at PREP FILM. We find that the CINECHROME is our most popular film stock.
